Venatri uses BLS survival data, Census business dynamics, IRS income statistics, and Monte Carlo simulation to model whether your business concept can survive, break even, and sustain positive cash flow -- before you commit capital.
The Problem
5.5 million new business applications are filed every year. 20% fail in year one. 50% are gone by year five. Most founders rely on spreadsheets that give a single break-even point -- a number that ignores variance in revenue ramp, expense shocks, and the base rate of industry failure. A spreadsheet says "month 14." Reality is a probability distribution.
Our Approach
We ingest quarterly survival rates from BLS Business Employment Dynamics, business formation data from Census BDS, tax return statistics from IRS SOI, and loan performance data from the SBA. For each business concept, we run 10,000 Monte Carlo cash flow simulations calibrated to the user's industry, state, capital structure, and revenue projections. The result is a complete viability picture -- survival probability, break-even timing with confidence intervals, cash runway estimates, and which variables matter most.
